Julien Vallee Vid

Not much paper form skill involved. Just thought it was a good video.

Julien Vallee....

Juliean Vallee

After reading about an installation he did for Aol in 'Computer Arts Projects' magazine I have taken a big interest in his work.

I like his 3d graffiti style of work using a mix of letter forms and objects.

Man made forms

These are a few forms man made forms which I have taken inspiration from to produce my paper forms.

'The Hubs' has a distinct repeated square pattern to produce a rounded structure...

This knitted wool uses a repeat shape to produce the form.

Workshop 3

In our 3rd workshop Richard showed us some more techniques in which to use such as using repeat shapes to produce nets and lattice effects.

Richard Sweeney

After working one on one with Richard Sweeney his input has really made me realise how talented he is and how he works with paper so effortlessly. His knowledge and works have really influenced my work so far.

"Singing Bird"

"Sand Dune"

Below is a piece of my work of which I took inspiration from Richards work.

Yulia Brodskaya

I love the work of Yulia Brodskaya because of her very intricate and detailed paper work. In particular her typographical work using paper. Yulia uses paper to produce highly detailed art as well as her typographical. I find it fascinating how she can apply so much detail using the paper.

Yulia's typographical work uses natural forms to influence the lettering. I also like the way instead of using paper to form the letters she produces forms then leaves empty space to illustrate the letters.

I want to experiment with this method of using to produce letters and words as it works really well.

Jen Stark

I have been looking at the work of Jen Stark who is a contemporary artist who works with paper as well as drawing and animation. I like the way she draws inspiration from natural forms and also her use of vibrant use of colours.

"Over and Out"

"Recipricol"

In this I like the way she uses different shades of colours to emphasis a gradient working outwards to the edge of the piece.

"Corioilis Effect"

This is definitely my favorite piece of her work as it gives the impression of movement out of the page. This piece produces an explosion look out of the page.

After our second session with Richard Sweeney I have used the idea of having a set template and then seeing how many variations of this I could create. This was the outcome.
